FOCUS WINETEST 2022 winner

As distinctive as the soil it comes from – and as expressive as the variety itself. The 2021 Laubenheimer Syrah is a wine of depth, spice, and personality.

Hand-harvested, spontaneously fermented on the skins for 18 days, and matured for 24 months in barriques before resting another 24 months in the bottle – a Syrah shaped by time, patience, and precision.

On the nose, it reveals green pepper, blackberry, and sweet cherry, interwoven with notes of cherry blossom, red plum, anise, and a hint of cinnamon. The palate shows vibrant fruit and elegant spice, underlined by earthy tones of forest floor and ivy.

A Syrah with depth, power, and unmistakable character – perfectly captured in the words of Ulrich Sautter, wine critic for Falstaff: “A Syrah with a signature.”

An ideal companion to game dishes, red meat, or simply moments when wine is meant to be more than just a drink.
